Lake Wister Hunting

There are 28,300 acres serving as public hunting area, offering numerous waterfowl, quail, squirrel, rabbit and deer. A 2,000 acre Waterfowl Refuge is also featured, but hunting can be found at Wister Wildlife Management Area.
The following area is open for hunting of all species which may legally be taken during legal open seasons by shotgun with pellets and archery.
1) A 400-acre unit east of the uncontrolled spillway and Glendale Dike.
Hunting is permitted anywhere on the Ouachita National Forest except within developed recreation sites or otherwise posted areas. All state hunting and fishing regulations, fees and seasons apply to National Forest lands.
