Lake Texana State Park

Lake Texana State Park is 575 acres, east of Edna, in central Jackson County, halfway between Houston and Corpus Christi. Activities include camping; boating; water skiing; jet skiing; sailing on the main lake; canoeing; picnicking (tree-shaded tables and grills); lake swimming (no designated area or lifeguard); hiking; good birding; and fishing. Interpretive programs are available for groups by special arrangements. Summer interpretive programs are held on Saturday mornings and afternoons.
Facilities include restrooms with and without showers; a 1.5-mile hiking/nature trail (including a .3-mile granite gravel surface meeting ADA requirements); picnic sites (tables, grills, and water faucet nearby); campsites with water hookup; campsites with water and electricity hookup (special rates are available during the off season); a Nature Center and Interpretive Area for special programs; a group picnic area with a pavilion; an amphitheater; lighted fishing piers; a fishing jetty that is ADA accessible; a double boat ramp; playgrounds; a trailer dump station; and fish-cleaning facilities on piers and near boat ramp. The Texas State Park Store sells Lake Texana gift items, ice, firewood, and rents canoes.
