Remodeled in 1996, the nature center at Greenleaf State Park is one of the most popular locations in the park. The center features live and hands-on exhibits and park artifacts. The year round naturalist and recreation program features living history programs, Cherokee storytelling, hayrides, astronomy programs, interpretive programs, nature walks, campfire programs, canoe races, sack races, games on the beach, plus much more. Programs are conducted in the park and nearby schools and communities. Some park programs are seasonal and available only on weekends.

Greenleaf State Park Fishing

Greenleaf FishingLargemouth bass, crappie, catfish and sunfish provide plenty of thrills for anglers of all ages and skill levels. A fully accessible kids fishing pond is stocked December through February with trout and stocked occasionally the remainder of the year with bass, catfish and perch. Fishing is allowed for the disabled and kids 16 and under (park trout stamp required during trout season). In cooperation with the Paralyzed Veterans of American and an ODWC grant, the park recently completed work on an accessible fishing pier on Greenleaf Lake which is open for year-round fishing at no charge.

Heated/Enclosed Fishing Dock - A perfect place for crappie fishing, out of the weather and into the night, year round. It also stocks groceries, specialty gift items and a variety of bait and tackle. Call 918-487-5149 for more information.

Fishing/Boating: The park has two boat ramps - one in Area B and one near the marina. (Skiing and personal watercraft are not allowed on lake)

Greenleaf Marina and Floating Grill: Enjoy outdoor dining on the lake. The grill features burgers, funnel cakes, ice cream,
nachos and other favorites. The marina has kayaks, canoes, paddleboats, fishing boats and party barges. For information and

Greenleaf State Park Campgrounds

Greenleaf CampingGreenleaf offers 178 secluded campsites, (M) (S) (P) (D), and lakeside RV sites and wooded primitive camping sites for the outdoors person. There are 5 comfort stations located throughout the park (three with showers). Two sanitary dump stations are available for RV's. Camping clubs are welcome and special off season packages can be designed specifically for them. Reservations are accepted year round at Greenleaf.

Group Shelters: Two shelters that are available for rental year round.

Community Building: Building is available for activities such as family reunions, camping clubs and business retreats. Our community building has heat and air and comes with a fully-equipped kitchen. It will accommodate up to 60 people.

Swimming: The aquatics center and swimming pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. With a double drop slide, challenging log roll, floats and games, come see why we're one of the funnest pools in the region. A spacious lighted deck area with tables and loungers is available for rent to those groups wanting to reserve the pool for parties after regular operational hours. The park offers a free swim beach just south of Area C near the community Building. No lifeguards on duty at beach.

Playcourts include two softball fields, two playgroups, two volleyball courts and horseshoe pits.

Group Shelters - Greenleaf State Park has two shelters that are available for rental year round

Gift Shop and Visitors Center: Visit the gift shop while at Greenleaf and take home a beautiful remembrance of Oklahoma's "Sleeping Beauty". The gift shop offers souvenirs, camping supplies, some grocery items, dry firewood and TV's - VCR's and
tapes.

Greeleaf State Park CabinsGreenleaf's 14 rustic hideaways are perfect for a romantic weekend or family retreat. Cabins are all one bedroom, with fully equipped kitchens, cookware, utensils and all linens provided. Most cabins have fireplaces and a magnificent view of the lake.

Cabin rates (except "Cabin on the Lake") $48 - $63. Off season rates, 4th night free, special coupons and other discounts available. (Call for current prices) Our Promise to You: If we do not have a park cabin available, our staff will locate you an overnight accommodation within the area.

Cabin on the Lake - This one bedroom award winning log cabin sits in the lush woods on the shores of Greenleaf Lake.
The cabin was designed and given as a gift to the park by the Oklahoma Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Dedicated in September 1994, this cabin is the only one in this region of the US and only the third of its kind in the nation built specifically for the physically challenged. It offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in a totally self-sufficient setting. The cabin has fully accessible facilities with a totally equipped kitchen, living and dining room, wood burning fireplace, electric hospital bed, hoyer lift, lift chair, sleeper sofa, queen size bed, wheel-in-shower and a screened in front porch overlooking the lake. Other amenities include a fully accessible floating fishing dock and picnic area. Rates are $45/night for disabled and $75/night for non-disabled. (Call for current prices.)

Greenleaf State Park Hiking Trails

Greenleaf Nature Trail
An 18 mile primitive trail on the banks of Greenleaf Lake, passes over a swinging bridge, and makes a return loop through the wildlife-rich Cherokee Game Management Area, beginning and ending in the park. The trail is designed for overnight backpacking and is also enjoyed by day hikers. Because it crosses military land, hikers should call the park in advance to ensure the trail is open for hiking.

Greenleaf State Park ORV Areas

Camp Gruber ORV Area
Camp Gruber ORV AreaThe Camp Gruber ORV Area was created by a land grant from the Federal Government's Department of the Interior in March of 1990, constituting the largest land grant from the Federal government to a County government to date. A 455 acre sliver of this army base is operated by the Camp Gruber Recreation Trust Authority as an off-road vehicle area. The terrain ranges from sandy to good ol' dirt with several rocks along the way. Enduros and hare scrambles are held at Gruber throughout the year.

Mountain Bicycles may be rented at the park office for $3.00/hour or $10/day.

Greenleaf State Park is just a short drive further south on SH 10 and offers excellent campground facilities, cabins, and activities.
