Sequoyah State Park Golf Courses

Sequoyah State Park Golf
Sequoyah State Park GolfNestled in the densely wooded foothills of the Ozark Plateau, Sequoyah is a short but difficult course with bent grass greens and bermuda grass tees and fairways ? a good challenge for the average golfer. More than 200 mature oak and pecan trees grace the fairways of Sequoyah, which offers views of Fort Gibson Lake from every tee box. The lake comes into play on five of the course?s holes. Golfers should heed the pro?s advice: Use more club than the yardage indicates to reach the course?s elevated greens.

Western Hills Resort is also located in Sequoyah State Park and offers comfortable accommodations with a Western theme. And for nature lovers, the park offers a variety of outdoor activities, a nature center and abundant wildlife.

Sequoyah State Park Hiking Trails

Sequoyah State Park Trails
Eagles roost Interpretive Trail is a short 1.25 mile loop through an oak/hickory forest. The Fossil Trail and Three Forks Trail are shorter, 1/2 mile nature trails. For the mountain biker, Whispering Pines Mountain Bike Trail is a 10-mile trail that wanders through a wide range of terrain within the park. Bicycles may be rented through Three Forks Nature Center where scheduled interpretive programs and guided nature hikes are available year-round.
