Quartz Mountain Resort Park, OK
Quartz Mountain Resort Park covers 4300 acres that overlook Lake Altus-Lugert. It was established in 1937 and is one of Oklahoma's original seven state parks. Many facilities had been constructed by the CCC during the 1930s. Its acreage includes granite mountains as well as a wooded and sandy shoreline. The North Fork of the Red River also flows through the southern part of the park.
Quartz Mountain Resort Park is a very popular recreation destination, offering visitors spectacular scenery, a multi-million dollar resort lodge, adventurous hiking opportunities, fishing and water sports, swimming, picnicking, camping, paddle boating, canoeing, photography and bird-watchering, off-road vehicle and motorcycling opportunities, festivals, bazaars, performing arts programs, and 18 hole golf.
