Jefferson Lake State Park is located in Jefferson County, 10 miles northwest of Steubenville and within an hour's drive southeast of Canton. The peaceful forest and scenic lake provide for a quiet wilderness escape.
Go hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding on 20 miles of multiple-use trails (bring your own horse). Scenic picnic areas have picnic tables and grills, along with reservable shelterhouses. The nature center offers interesting and educational displays and nature programs provide great family entertainment all summer long.
Pitch your tent or park your RV on one of 97 wooded non-electric campsites. Showers are available at the beach area. Pets are allowed on designated sites. Horsemans Camping is available.
17-acre Jefferson Lake offers swimming and sunbathing on a sand beach. Enjoy laid-back boating, limited to canoeing, sailing or boats with electric motors only. One launch ramp provides easy access to the lake.
Fishing can be enjoyed from the shoreline or on the lake. Hunting is permitted in season in designated areas.
2006 Camping Fees are $16/night for non-electric sites. Call 1-866-OHIO-PARKS for reservations.
