Legion Park
Sidney welcomes you to Legion Park, and ideal setting for fun and games or just relaxing. Modern playground equipment to excited a child’s fantasies, a pond stocked with fish to whet a young fisherman’s appetite that also serves as a haven for Mallard ducks. Legion Park brings mother nature to the city.
Visit Living Memorial Gardens, a recycling gardening project of a 1940 vintage municipal swimming pool. This is a Memorial created to loved ones by the planting of trees, shrubs or other living plants and to establish a monument to the part Sidney plays in American history. Ablaze with color in the summer, this is a panorama of beauty.
Legion Park also houses the War Memorial commemorating veterans from all American wars and one of the country’s largest American flags which measures 20′ x 38′ on its 140′ flagpole.
