The historical Ellis County Courthouse and adjacent log cabin mark Arnett as the county seat.
Hunting enthusiasts flock to Arnett each spring and fall for the Field Dog trials; while in May, quilt lovers enjoy the Handihome Club Quilt Show.
July's heat also means a time of fun and celebration for friends, old and new. Fun Day in the Park includes hot dogs, games and fireworks. The third Sunday marks the Old Settler's Day County Reunion, where descendants of early-day settlers meet for a potluck dinner, entertainment and catching up with the latest news. A three-day Canadian Trail Ride precedes this annual event.
September brings the American Legion Rodeo, with events such as team roping, barbecue, parade and mutton bustin' for youngsters eight and under. Shortly thereafter, a week-long Community-Wide Revival is held in the park, Kiwanis Kids' Day, also in September, features a parade and games fro the kids. Ellis County Love of Freedom Day festivities are held in November.
The courthouse square lights up with brilliant displays during the Christmas Lighting and Santa Claus Day in December.
