Wilkes Co. is included in the Overmountain Victory Natl. Historic Trail of the Revolutionary War that covers Abingdon, VA through to eastern TN, to the high mountains of NC, across the Piedmont of NC and SC, and ends at the Kings Mtn Natl Military Park in York County, SC.
