Flea Markets
Whether you’re a serious collector, a dealer, or someone who just loves to hunt for bargains and treasures, the flea markets in Fairbury and Steele City are sure to become regularly-scheduled stops as you make your way through southeast Nebraska.
Fairbury: The annual July 4th Flea Market (“the BIG ONE”), is held each year in the City Park in downtown Fairbury and is sponsored by the Pioneer Shrine Club. Now in its 29th year, this flea market has grown to over 300 vendors and plays host to over 7,000 visitors. This dawn to dusk event features a Shriner’s parade at 11 a.m. and a fireworks display at dark, sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

This show is sponsored by the Jefferson County Historical Society. Rain or shine, this event features over 100 vendors, blacksmithing and horseshoeing demonstrations, a working saw and shingle mill and tours of the buildings which comprise the Steele City Historical District. Steele City is located just 12 miles southeast of Fairbury on Hwy 8.
