This granite marker, located on the grounds of Regional Park on Highway 3, explains the history and importance of the Natural Gas in the Panhandle Region. The Oklahoma Panhandle is part of the area that sits on the largest individual gas reserve in the United States … the Hugoton field. It also provides the worlds largest source of helium.
