Charleston Community Music Association – Dave Bennett’s Tribute to Benny Goodman

8:00pm at the Charleston Municipal Auditorium.

Dave Bennett is a true clarinet phenomenon. At age 12, he was invited to the bandstand of the famous Sweet Basil jazz club in New York to sit in with trumpet great Doc Cheatham. At age 14, he traveled around America as a member of the New Reformation Dixieland Band. At age 17, Dave was selected to perform as a special guest soloist with the Count Basie Orchestra.
Now at age 20, the Dave Bennett Septet tours the U.S. and Canada with his “Tribute to Benny Goodman.” Many say he is now as good as Goodman; some say he is better.
