Moundsville Penitentiary (Prison) Tours

Don’t miss the opportunity to experience the shock of what life was like behind the huge, cold walls of the former Moundsville penitentiary. It is in the National Historic Register, and encompasses over 10 acres. This Gothic-style prison was constructed during the Civil War era and remained open until 1995.

PRISION TOURS:

April – November, Tuesday – Sunday, 10:00am – 4:00pm

December through March by appointment only.

Closed on all holidays.

Night and evening tours are conducted on weekends by appointment only.

Adults $8.00, Seniors $7.00, Children $5.00, children under 5 free. Group tours available by appointment.
