World Championship Cow Chip Throw

On the 3rd Saturday of April each year, the fairgrounds plays host to the famous World Championship Cowchip Throw. Contestants from all over the state and nation attend this event. The contestant throws his or her cowchips and whoever throws it the furtherest is the winner. Divisions include Men, Women, VIP, and Teams(4 persons to a team).

This event receives world wide media attention. It is our number one claim to fame.

This event is part of the Cimarron Territory Celebration that honors early settlers of Beaver County. Parades, contests, shoot-outs, exhibits, and many other events are a part of this yearly celebration. The events all take place within one week starting the second Saturday of April known as Cowchip Week.
