Annual Taos Fall Arts Festival

Sep
11–20

The cornerstone of Taos Fall Festivals is the Annual Taos Fall Arts Festival which includes two art shows representing Taos best. Taos has a rich art history dating back to the indigenous artists and Santeros of the distant past. The history continues through the Taos Society of Artists in the early twentieth century, then on to the present day abundance of artists in every style and medium imaginable. The established artists of Taos (residents of Taos County for at least five years) are showcased in the prestigious Taos Invites Taos at the Taos Civic Plazas Rio Grande Hall.

Taos has more artists and galleries per capita than Paris, France, so the popularity of the second of the Taos Fall Arts Festival shows, The Taos Open, next door at the Civic Plazas Bataan Hall, is no surprise. This show represents artists who have lived in Taos for at least one year. The Taos Medical Services Foundation, which sponsors the Taos Fall Arts Festival, is proud the shows are the only ones in the state that exclusively represent local artists.
