Annual Alabama Hiking Trail Society Conference

The Alabama Hiking Trail Society Annual Conference is the largest gathering of hikers, backpackers, and outdoor lovers in the state. The event, sponsored by the non-profit AHTS and Cheaha State Park, will be held in historic Bald Rock Lodge at the park. The weekend is highlighted with two tracks of presentations covering a wide variety of topics ranging from hiking and backpacking gear, tips, and destinations to Alabama history, to environmental issues. Throughout the weekend there will be entertainment, food, raffles, a silent auction, and of course – short hikes atop Cheaha Mountain. Everyone is invited to take part in the photo contest for prizes.
