Chunnenuggee Fair

May
2

The Chunnenuggee Fair has musical entertainment. food and lots of arts and crafts in front of the historic Second Empire-style Bullock County Courthouse. The Chunnenuggee Fair, celebrated each second Saturday in May, is a modern continuation of the pre-Civil War festival that was originally hosted by the oldest horticultural society in the United States, the Chunnenuggee Garden Club. The 19th Century Fair boasted a large exhibit of horticultural advancements of the time and the best cakes in the community. The modern fair tries to emulate the old by including a cake sale with cakes made by bakers of local renown, and sales and raffles of plants from the surrounding plant producers.

It includes a juried Arts and Crafts show, live entertainment from local and regional singers and bands, a made-from-scratch Cake Sale, children’s games and rides, and lots of food! We always have a variety of entertainment. There are games, rides, characters, events, and plenty of goodies to be found at the booths to keep smiles on the faces of children and adults of any age! As always, there’s a lineup of local and regional talent on stage, filling the air with everything from rock and blues to country and folk music – and everything in between!
