The bells of the world-renowned Bok Singing Tower will ring out this day to celebrate the birth of Sanctuary founder Edward Bok. Dedicated in 1929 and now a National Historic Landmark, the beautiful gardens and majestic Tower are his gift to the American people. Born in the Netherlands in 1863, Bok became the editor of The Ladies’ Home Journal, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, humanitarian, philanthropist and an advocate for world peace and the environment.
