State Center Rose Festival
Family weekend event beginning on Thursday night with Rose Queen Talent Competition and Rose Queen Reception. Carnival opens on Thursday evening. Carnival, Chili Cookoff, Iowa Wine Tasting, Kansas City BBQ Contest and crowning of the Rose Queen Friday evening. Rose Parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday followed by events all day. Street dance and open bar on Main Street Saturday evening. Concert and fireworks on Sunday evening.
