Fort Rowdy Gathering
With the hovering lights of campfires, frontier enthusiasts gather in groups to play guitars, drums and washboards–much like people of the small trading villages of the 1800’s. Named in honor of General “Mad Anthony” Wayne, who founded a piece of land that would one day become Covington. The Fort Rowdy Gathering is a celebration of the rough roots of western Miami County and the Stillwater region. The weekend begins with an old-fashioned hometown parade on Saturday, but the highlight of this festival is the mountain man encampment located in the woods along the State Scenic Stillwater River. Visitors will enjoy the free live concerts on the main stage located in the Village area in the park. You will find plenty of homemade food prepared by the non-profit organizations of the area.
