Part of the National Historic Trail marking march from Abingdon, VA to Kings Mountain, SC during the Revolutionary Way. Encampment features period clothing and historical re-enactments, near Marion.

Exit 86 off I-40, US 226 south to Dysartsville.

This FREE event starts with the posting of the colors, and Pledge of Allegiance. There will also be demonstrations of the period trades such as blacksmithing, a doctor, quilting, and more. Open house style tours of the historic site will also be available throughout the day.

At the end of the day, stay for the captivating evening narrative describing the daring attempt of local settlers and farmers to secure their independence by halting the westward expansion of the British Army. Bring a chair, as the program will be in our bard field (weather permitting), by the Overmountain Victory Trail Association.
