Rec 101: Intro to Snowshoeing

Join us for a FREE introductory program. Participants will be instructed in snowshoes and accessories, winter safety, appropriate cold weather clothing and basic snowshoeing techniques. It is geared to the first-timer and includes 60 minutes on some shoes trekking around the gorgeous park.

Snowshoes can be provided to the first 24 participants, but you must pre-register. Go to https://runningfitevents.webconnex.com/2014snowshoe101 if you need to borrow snowshoes, and note if you need adult or child size in the registration as there are only certain quantities of each size.

Event will be held snow or shine. Warm clothing is required and water bottles are recommended. Dress in LAYERS! In the event there is no snow, please join us for a winter trail hike/walk/run and winter tips. Instruction provided courtesy of Running Fit.

Feel free to bring your own snowshoes and participate in the class without pre-registering. Please note: Participants must be 12 years of age or older. Meet at the Concession Building at 10 am; take the 8 Mile Road entrance just west of Beck.
