Pimeria Alta Museum

In 1914, the Nogales Volunteer fire Department pitched in and built the Old Town Hall on Grand Avenue, which is now home to many historic treasures displayed in the Pimeria Alta Museum. Designed by the renowned Tucson architect, Henry O. Jaastad, the building was constructed with all of the amenities-steam heat, sewer, electricity, and running water. The entire ground floor can be explored.

The museum’s exhibits and collections are devoted to the history of southern Arizona and northern Sonora. Artifacts include guns, newspapers, medicines and a collection of historic photos. The Able and Willing pumper from 1895 is on display at the Pimeria Alta Museum.

Maestro Ochoa thrilled generations of Nogalians by showing up with his bicycle cart filled with candy each day after school. The famous cart is now on display in the Pimería Alta Museum.
