Pampa

As the seat of Gray County, Pampa was founded in 1888 on the Santa Fe Railroad, and was named from the Spanish word pampas meaning plains.

Today Pampa is a city of beautiful churches, large parks and fine homes. Thirty-two municipal parks on tree-shaded draws give a spacious air to the plains city. Pampa is an oil field supply point with allied industries, a marketing center for agricultural and livestock-raising area, and an industrial center provide a diversified economy.
