Historical and Coal Mining Museum
The 1903 post office houses a collection beginning with the settlement period of 1843. Exhibits depict pioneer farm and village as well as a historic post office display. Detailed information on the Mormon Trail of 1846 and maps are available, and artifacts from the trail are on display. Research library contains histories, plat books and directories of Appanoose County. Coal mine replica on lower level shows mining tools and equipment.
