The Carnegie Library was built in 1906 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Girard was the smallest city in the world to have a Carnegie Library, thanks to Miss Jane Addams, Founder of Chicago’s Hull house and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931.
