Mark Twain Lake Trails

Hikers and backpackers are encouraged to use the many miles of trails throughout the lake area. Wildlife blinds, food plots and small ponds enhance a hiker’s chance of spotting a deer, bluebird or other wild inhabitants of Missouri.

Two trails offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy diversified habitats while walking or horseback riding. The Joanna Trail has 6 or 11-mile loops or 25 mile trek and is located at the John F. Spalding Recreation Area. The Lick Creek Trail has a 3-mile loop or a one-way 8 mile trek.
