Patsy Pond Nature Trail

The Patsy Pond area is located in the Croatan National Forest and is one of the most diverse natural areas in North Carolina. It is a place where plant species of a long leaf pine forest coexist with plant species of the state’s coastine and barrier islands. Two well-marked trails exist – a 3/4-mile and a 1 3/4-mile trail. Free trail guides are available at the trail entrance located on Highway 24 directly across from the NC Coastal Federation offices in Ocean, about halfway between Morehead City and Swansboro. Trail use is open to the public during daylight hours.
