Armstrong Air & Space Museum- Ohio Historical Society

The museum honors all Ohioans who have attempted to defy gravity in flight. It is located in Wapakoneta, Neil Armstrong’s hometown. On display are the Gemini 8 spacecraft, the airplane Mr. Armstrong learned to fly in (Aeronca 7AC Champion), two of Mr. Armstrong’s space suits, and a moon rock. There are several audiovisual displays. On display outside is an F5D Skylancer, an airplane Mr. Armstrong flew as a test pilot.

The most unique area of the museum is the infinity room; a sixteen-foot cube lined with mirrors that gives the visitors the impression of being in space. The new exhibit area includes space shuttle and lunar landing simulators that allows visitors to experience space through hands-on activity.
