Belvidere Historic District

The rural Belvidere Historic District is significant for its preservation of the county’s rural tradition and the rich Quaker history that began here. Featured in the district are Layden’s Country Store, featuring homemade smoked sausages and meats and hoop cheese; and the Piney Woods Friends Meeting House, the successor of the monthly Meeting of Friends established in Perquimans county in the 1670s.
