Castle McCulloch & The Crystal Garden

The castle is a restored gold refinery listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1823 and restored in mid-1980, the castle is a granite structure with a drawbridge, moat and 70-foot tower. The Crystal Garden, built in 1997, is reminiscent of Victorian times with beveled glass walls, a crystal chandelier and a lovely veranda with a commanding view of the castle across the lake. This beautiful, secluded property is used for weddings/receptions, corporate and other private events. Visitors can enjoy seasonal activities, including gem and gold panning, historical tours and bridal festivals. Office hours: Mon-Fri, 9 am-5 pm. Open Sat & Sun by reservation. Admission fee for some activities. Call for more information and permanent dates.
