Civic Center (Brown County Fairgrounds)

Located on West 7th Street, the Fairgrounds are fronted by a wall constructed of native Kansas limestone. The main building is also constructed of Kansas limestone and has a large exhibit hall for showing animals at fairs as well a two wings where the show animals are kept. Constructed by the WPA in 1937 it is still in excellent condition. Many out of state visitors are amazed that a town the size of Horton could have such a large “Outstanding Fair Building.”
