Cross Timbers State Park

Cross Timbers State Park encompasses 1,075 acres including five recreation areas surrounding Toronto Reservoir which means all five areas can be reached from Highway 105. Visitors enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, water skiing, camping, hiking, picnicking and wildlife observation to name a few. The rolling Chautauqua Hills area provides the visitor with an unparalleled backdrop for their outdoor recreational opportunities.

Facilities available at the park include boat ramps, hiking trails, improved campsites and modern restroom facilities. Such recreational activities as camping in designated areas and cross country hiking are common pastimes on Toronto.

Shaded campsites within easy access of the lake are available for both full RV hookup and primitive camping. The developed sites include modern restrooms and showers, as well as electric, water and sewer campsite hookups at selected locations. The park has electric campsites open all year for those campers wishing to enjoy the pleasure of the park in the off-season. Frost free hydrants are available at Toronto Point and Manns Cove. A limited number of campsites are available to be reserved. Reservations may be made in person, by phone or by mail to the park office.

The six hiking trails wind through extensively wooded habitat teaming with a variety of native wildlife. Park naturalists are on staff in the summer months to help provide a variety of outdoor learning experiences.

Special visitor programs are offered throughout the year, including interpretive programs, junior naturalist programs and special recreational and cultural programs.
