Forest Heritage Center
The Forest Heritage Center is located in beautiful Beavers Bend Resort Park, a short drive north of Broken Bow. The museum describes the evolution of southeastern Oklahoma forests told through a series of dramatic dioramas.
Exhibits include the Forest Art Gallery, chainsaw carvings, a 100 year old log cabin from the Kiamichi Mountains, and traditional woodworking tools dating from the earliest tools used in the harvesting of timber from the mountains.
Its Forest Tree Trail winds through the surrounding woods and offers tree identification, local history information, and scenic beauty to adventurous hikers. The Center has a gift shop and conference rooms well-suited to sales meetings and workshops.
