Freshwater Farms of Ohio

Ohio’s largest indoor fish hatchery and retail fish farm market. Free self-guided farm tours include trout feeding and a sturgeon petting zoo. Guided tours of the fish farm require advanced registration and a small fee, and can include a gourmet sampling of Freshwater Farms smoked trout appetizers and all-natural smoked trout spreads.

Shrimp are harvested in late September, and available fresh at the farm or at the Ohio Fish & Shrimp Festival in downtown Urbana on the 3rd Saturday of September. Large selections of garden pond koi and goldfish as well as many other pond fish species are available April through October. Pond fountains and displays are featured around the farm.

Gift shop also on site that features local foods, art, glass, pottery and antiques. Indoor and outdoor seating available for small or large groups. Public restroom facilities also available.
