Great Seal State Park
Great Seal State Park is located in Ross County near Chillicothe, about an hour drive south of Columbus, or north of Portsmouth. The picture-perfect landscape of rolling hills and trees was the model for the historic Great Seal of the State of Ohio and is a modern-day dream for hikers.
Go hiking on 5 miles of nature trails, or hiking and horseback riding on 17 miles of some of the most scenic bridle trails in the state (bring your own horse). Mountain biking is also permitted on multiple use trails. The park offers scenic picnic areas with picnic tables and grills.
15 campsites for horseman camping are available. The basic campground amenities are primitive.
Hunting, including deer hunting, is permitted in season in designated areas. A valid Ohio hunting license is required.
