Historic Albemarle Tour

The Historic Albemarle Tour, organized in 1975 as a 50l(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is North Carolina?s oldest organized heritage trail. This self-paced, self-guided driving trail takes the traveler through 400 years of American history, culture and the environment of thirteen northeastern North Carolina counties. Easily identifiable brown and white signs throughout the region invite visitors to follow in the footsteps of pilgrims and pirates, soldiers and slaves, sea captains and colonists at the 27 sites on the trail. With a copy of our brochure and your map in hand, you?ll be on your way to enjoy our traditions, history and culture. Our brochure is downloadable on this website at http://www.visitnc.com/_partners/rack_brochures/_downloads/HistoricAlbemarle07.pdf or by mail.
