Historic Henkel Livestock Co. Building

1895-1905 (SM). Romanesque Revival style with palisters dividing the nine-bay facade into five major sections. Rear is slightly later addition. In 1902 C.V. and L.P. Henkel and David Craig organized the Henkel Livestock Company, later chagned to Henkel-Craig Livestock Comapny with stockholders over the entire state of NC. IN 1918 the company gave way to the automobile and was sold to outside interests.
