Little Adobe School House

The Little Adobe Schoolhouse is a life size replica of the first schoolhouse in Mesa. According to Mesa Historian Earl Merrill, “In 1882 Mesa’s first regular schoolhouse, a small adobe building, was built on the northwest corner of the Center Street- Second Avenue intersection, and Francelle Robson became the teacher.”

Inside this replica located on the grounds of the Mesa Historical Museum visitors will be able to hear a recording about the original schoolhouse from the grandson of the first teacher and see what school was like for pioneer children.
