McClelland-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System

The McClelland-Kerr Lock and Dam offer a fascinating view from the 7,230 foot dam with a maximum height of 75 feet above the streambed. There is a service road to the right embankment and an access road to the lock in the left embankment. Passage of vessels through the lock is always a captivating experience. The lock has a chamber 110 feet wide by 600 feet long with a normal lift of 48 feet.

There is a learning center located at the dam to introduce visitors to the history of the navigation system and the mechanics of the lock.
