Middle Creek State Lake
Middle Creek State Fishing Lake is a prime source of water for the city of Louisburg. In addition, it offers fishing, primitive camping, hunting, bird watching, hiking, and a variety of wildflowers for viewing. It is a 281-acre multipurpose lake with a 237-acre perimeter of mixed woodland and grassland.
The lake is managed by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks to maintain a diverse, high-quality sportfish population. Species stocked in the lake include Bluegill, Channel, Flathead, Large and Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, Saugeye, Walleye, White Bass, Sunfish.
The lake is open to the public at no charge and hunting is allowed in specified areas. There are several graveled camping pads, but no utility hookups are available. There is a pit toilet, but no water hydrants.
Boats my be used for fishing, but skiing and swimming are not allowed.
