The Mineral & Lapidary Museum which opened in November of 1997 features the natural beauty of minerals, gems, fossils and artifacts found in North Carolina, in the United States, and around the world. Displays include North Carolina minerals, dinosaur egg cluster, Smithsonion minerals, English minerals, fluorescent minerals, geodes, petrified wood & large logs, coral, artfully crafted jewelry, gem stones and Cullinan Diamond replicas. Gift shop is open daily for that special gem you have always wanted. We crack open geodes for you….surprise! Free admission! Monday-Friday 1-5 pm; Saturday 10 am-5 pm
