Mount Magazine State Park

Mount Magazine State Park, the highest peak in the state at 2,753 feet, provides commanding views; impressive visitor center with interactive exhibits; camping, all sites have water, electric, and sewer hookups; new bathhouse with hot showers; rappelling, hang gliding, hiking; Cove Lake hiking trail nearby. Ark. 309 leading to the park is a U.S. Forest Service Scenic Byway; lodge and cabins are under construction.

Directions: Located on Scenic Hwy. 309 approximately 16 miles south of Paris; or from Danville, travel nine miles west on Ark. 10 to Havana, then go 10 miles north on Scenic Hwy. 309
