Constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s; 35 campsites and 15 fully equipped cabins with kitchens; 14 miles of trails encircle the mountain; facilities include a pool, tennis courts, picnic areas, playground, pavilions, ball field; visitor center with exhibits, store, bicycle rentals. (Trailers over 24 feet should not attempt the climb.)
