North Carolina State Archives

The State Archives preserves original and microfilm records of the colony and state of North Carolina from 1663 to present. This includes state agency and county records, private manuscript collections, maps, photographs and other documentary evidence available for research. The archives is open for research on a Tuesday-Saturday schedule.
