San Tan Historical Society Museum

The Old Rittenhouse Elementary School, was built in 1925. Used as a school through 1982, this building is now on the National Registry for Historic Places. Ever wondered how Power, Sossaman, Hawes and Ellsworth roads got their names? Who was Rittenhouse? Where was the first school? What was Frank Lloyd Wright’s connection to the San Tan area? How did the community benefit from the German POWs? Who was the man on the mountain? Or Who started the Queen Creek Potato Company in 1932?

Located on the S.E. corner of Ellsworth and Queen Creek roads, the museum is open to the public every Saturday and Tuesday morning, so take some time to view the exhibits, and ask questions.
