Sandy Sanders Wildlife Management Area

The Sandy Sanders WMA covers 16,510 acres of Greer and Beckham counties in Southwest Oklahoma.

  • The habitat is rough gypsum outcroppings scattered with mesquite and Pine off Juniper trees.

  • Approximately 300 acres of tillable land, planted three rows, cover crop, millet, maize and sunflowers

  • Approximately 15 farm ponds from 1 1/2 to 2 acres. The ponds are stocked with channel cat and large mouth bass.

  • Species present include Bob White, Scaled quail, Dove, currently being managed for white tail deer, mule deer and turkey with no season at this time due to management efforts.


  • Places for bird watchers and hikers and anyone interested in native plants.

  • Equestrian trails

  • Mountain bicycling on 45 miles of unpaved roads.

  • Camping permissible in designated areas.

  • Open to the public year round.
