Scenic Drive

F.M. 669 north toward Post ascends the Texas High Plains, which are southernmost extension of Great Plains of the United States. In immensity beyond comprehension, Great Plains sweep north more than 1,600 miles, thrusting deep into Canada, through heartland of America that produces nation’s abundance of grain, meat and fiber. The road climbs the abrupt edge through panoramas of steep cliffs and colorful canyons.
