Scioto Trail State Park
Scioto Trail State Park is located in Ross County near Chillicothe, within an hour drive south of Columbus.
The ridgetops of this rugged and remote park, surrounded by state forest land, offer breathtaking vistas of the beautiful Scioto River Valley. Go hiking on 12 miles of nature trails, or horseback riding on 17 miles of scenic state forest bridle trails (bring your own horse). The park offers scenic picnic areas with tables, grills and a picnic shelter.
Hunting, including deer hunting, is permitted in season in the adjacent state forest. Fishing is permitted in Stewart and Caldwell lakes. A valid Ohio hunting and/or fishing license is required.
94 sites with/without electric are available. Camping with pets is permitted on designated sites. Campground amenities include fire rings and picnic tables at each site, plus several latrines in the campground. A walk-in camp at Stewart Lake offers 18 primitive campsites. Enjoy hassle-free camping in a Camper Cabin.
