The Jewell County Historical Society Museum

The Jewell County Historical Society Museum contains donated gifts of various descriptions. The North building was the original home of the Jewell County Historical Society, donated by Mr. & Mrs. Doc. Johnson. The South building was originally the Wint Smith Building which he willed to the Jewell County Historical Society.

The Jewell County Historical Society also has the old Jail at the North East corner of Center & Madison.

The building & Threshing Bee grounds North of the city park houses Antique Tractors, Engines, & Machinery. This is where our Threshing Bee is held on the 3rd weekend in July. Also on the 3rd Saturday in October the Historical Society hosts a Farmers Market featuring craft displays, food, etc.

There is a microfilm reader in the City Library and microfilm of Jewell County Papers through 1988.
